About IfSketch
IfSketch is a collection of interactive “what if” experiments. Each one takes a question — what if the Moon disappeared, how much of my life have I spent asleep, what if I saved £10 a day — and lets you change the numbers and see what happens.

Who runs IfSketch
IfSketch is published by Aivora Digital, a small independent web studio. Aivora Digital writes the experiments, checks the figures against published sources, and fixes mistakes when readers point them out.
What you will find here
There are 42 experiments, in two broad groups:
- Science and space. Thought experiments such as Earth stopping spinning or everyone jumping at once, worked through with standard physics.
- Everyday life and money. Calculations about your own time and habits, such as years spent commuting, the cost of a daily coffee or walking instead of driving.
Every result updates as you move the controls, and you can share your exact scenario with a link.
How the experiments are built
Each experiment uses a published formula and the numbers you enter. The calculation runs in your browser, so the same inputs always give the same answer. Every page explains how the result was worked out, lists its assumptions and links to its sources, such as NASA fact sheets, NIST constants, the Office for National Statistics and MoneyHelper.
Some questions are impossible in real life, like stopping time. When that is the case, the page says so and explains what the numbers can and cannot tell you.
What IfSketch is not
The money and life experiments are educational estimates. They are not financial, medical or professional advice, and they do not recommend products. For decisions that matter, check with an official source or a qualified adviser.

If you spot a mistake or have an idea for a new experiment, email aivora@agentmail.to. We read every message, and corrections are fixed on the page with a new “Last updated” date.
How the site is funded
IfSketch is free to use and has no accounts or paywall. It is funded by advertising from Google AdSense. Adverts never change the results of an experiment. Our privacy policy explains how ads and analytics use cookies.
