What If You Could Stop Time?
If time froze around you, what would you actually be able to do?
Stopping time is not a physics experiment. It is a story device. If time in the usual sense halted, electromagnetic fields would not evolve, photons would not arrive at retinas, air would not flow into lungs, and you — being made of the same physics — would not get an exemption. The honest scientific sentence is: this is not testable, and a consistent freeze would include you. People still want a number, so this page offers a narrative layer with the disclaimer on the tin. If we magically except you, your air, and a private beam of light, then frozen minutes become walking distance at a pace you choose. That is fiction sitting next to a calculator. It will not be sold as a theory of time.

What does that mean?
In known physics this scenario is not testable. If time stopped, light would not travel and you could not see; air would not move and you could not breathe. Treating it as a story instead: 60 frozen minutes at 5 km/h is 5 km of narrative walking — about 60 minutes of unopposed stroll. That distance is not a laboratory result. It is what a pause-button fantasy would look like if you, your air and some photons were magically exempt. No photon motion means no seeing. No air motion means no breathing. No chemical kinetics means no nerves. A universe with dt = 0 is not a diorama you stroll through; it is a single frozen state that includes you. Science fiction borrows the diorama anyway, because a paused crowd is a tempting stage. This section exists so the diorama is not mistaken for a result. If the hero number later looks like a walking distance, that is the story layer, labelled as one, not a laboratory output.

Grant the usual movie exceptions: you move, air near you moves, some light moves with you. Then a walking speed times a frozen duration is a distance.
